Heraklion has an international airport, well serviced with flights from across continental Europe.  However, given the popularity of Heraklion for tourists and visitors from across the world, we recommend booking travel early to secure best rates and avoid disappointment.

Transport from Heraklion International airport to the centre is around 3km and costs approx €20 each way by taxi, although there are frequent public transport services, taking around 20 minutes.
